We have stayed in some pretty wonderful beach properties from quaint, artsy boutiques to huge, spreading beach houses but this one wins the prize for the absolute best beach getaway we have ever experienced.
I was invited on a press trip to the Casa Marina Hotel, Jacksonville Beach, located right on the beach in this quaint, beautiful town, settled years ago as one of the first towns in historic Florida.
My husband, Tom is not really a beach lover and will go along with me if I do a little arm twisting, but I thought I would invite my lovely sister-in-law instead who also loves the beach as much as I do. Since I am lucky enough to have developed a professional relationship with Sterling Resorts over the years, I checked with them to see if they had anything available where we could stay for a couple of days after the press trip before I invited her along on the trip.
Did they have anything they would like me to write about?
Anything with a view of the water?
Anything at all?
Well.
Uh.
Yeah they did.
He replied almost immediately that the woman I had worked with for years was no longer employed at Sterling Resort but he very kindly indicated they would still love to work with me and what did I need exactly? Within a few minutes, he emailed me with information about a house they had in Frangista Beach, in between the beautiful coast towns of Destin and Miramar Beach, Florida along Scenic Gulf Drive. This home is conveniently close to Whale’s Tail Beach Bar and Grill, Sandestin Outlets, and the emerald Gulf Coast with white soft sandy beaches. Get ready to explore this 4 stories, 4,850 sq. ft. living space home that features 7 Bedrooms and 7.5 Bathrooms that sleeps 24 people comfortably!
I almost passed out when I started clicking on the links in the email. I had in mind a small, two bedroom house on the beach but he went way over and above what I had asked for. This beautifully furnished house had SEVEN bedrooms, SEVEN AND A HALF baths, it’s own private pool – in fact you name it and this house had it.
We had already marveled over the house in the emails he sent us but when we pulled up in front of this perfectly lovely place, we took one look at the house, looked at each other, and gave loud squeals of delight! We prowled around for a while, looking for a house key and finally found it on the back of the sign overlooking the darling little in ground pool in front of the house. We left all our stuff piled in the car and used the key to get into the house where we went from room to room, our squeals getting louder and louder.
I dug out my phone and took a few pictures of the house but you can also see great pictures of the house on their web site as well.
There are so many floors to this house and so many bedrooms that we honestly lost track of what was available. It would be the perfect getaway for a large family or any group that wants to share a house and still have plenty of room to spread out. Every bedroom we looked at was equally nice.
Of course, we didn’t have any kids with us on this particular trip but there was plenty of room for them in this house and plenty of room for them to spread out. There was room for tv watching, game playing and just laying around, taking a great afternoon nap after exploring the house. There were some bedrooms that were designed especially for kids or young people and they would love them!
Each bedroom we went into was better than the last. We brought in all our stuff and picked out the bedrooms that we liked the most – what a decision! I located a great bedroom that adjoins a bathroom with a huge tub and that was an easy choice for me! I relaxed in that tub twice and wish I had more time to just enjoy that fabulous location.
After checking out all the bedrooms, we brought all our stuff inside and got settled in. We unpacked a little bit, then fixed a late snack in the huge, marvelous kitchen where we were thrilled to find the fridge full of ice and ever other convenience you can possibly imagine.
We found everything we could possibly need in that kitchen and plenty of space for everyone to spread out in the dining areas for meals. There was a great lounging area with a huge tv right beside the dining area and this is where we spent most of our time. With only two of us, we didn’t use nearly a large percentage of the house at all so there was plenty of room for a big family or group of friends to spread out. There was also a great lounge area downstairs when you first enter the house.
The next day, we explored the house more in the bright sunlight and found our very own golf cart, that you can use to tool around the neighborhood.
If it had been warmer, we would have spent some time relaxing in our very own, private pool in the front yard.
We spent the rest of our sumptuous vacation at this perfectly lovely beach house exploring the area, going to the movies, and going out to dinner to enjoy the local, fresh seafood. We couldn’t possibly had enjoyed a vacation more at any of the other beach houses in the neighborhood since we were staying in one of the nicest ones in the area! I don’t think we could have possibly picked a nicer beach house getaway if they had let us choose our own place.
It was the perfect beach getaway!
