Wait.

Let me rephrase that.

What really bothered me about the Grand Paradise beach house in Gulf Shores was that it was so fabulously, magnificently huge and we did not have our entire family with us.

Seven bedrooms, enough for our entire family + my brother’s family. Check.

A completely wonderful bunk bed room with a loft equipped with its very own television and bean bag chairs that the cousins would adore? Check.

Right on the beach. Literally. Like you step out the door onto sand. Check.

This did indeed bother me but it did not keep us from enjoying every single minute of our stay.

Not at all.

We knew in advance that the place was going to be completely fabulous. We just didn’t realize quite how fabulous it would be. We arrived in the evening so it wasn’t actually until the next morning, when I stepped out onto the deck overlooking the beach that I realized that fact.

The beach view.

The beach view.

I love a beach house where you can literally have your toes in the sand in just a few steps. Come on down!

And when you return from your beach sojourn, the house has you covered as well.

There’s actually a full, enclosed shower on the lower patio in case you want to really strip down, rinse off, wash your hair, etc. without bringing sand into the house. Then you can sit at the table down there in the shade and enjoy an icy drink.

Quiet, cool patio.

But let me tell you about the inside. You enter from the covered patio/carport area with a code to the door and this I love. No keeping up with keys, just a number to remember. Or to put into your phone to help you remember in our case.

Head up the carpeted stairs into the large living room/dining areas/kitchen of your new home for the week. Or month. Or even longer, if I had my say.

Come on in!

There are actually two complete dining areas, both of which overlook the beach.

Both dining areas have windows overlooking the beach.

The kitchen was huge and stocked with anything you might need.

Great view from everywhere!

There are three bedrooms on the main level with two full baths and a half bath. We actually ended up just staying on this level because it was easier than carting everything upstairs and we didn’t need all that space.

Every single bedroom has a flat screen tv, DVD player and the house also has Wi-Fi.

There were four more bedrooms upstairs, three with private bathrooms. Come on up!

All of the upstairs bedrooms are lovely but two have amazing, huge windows one of which has an incomparable beach view. You can quite literally lie in bed reading a book and glance up occasionally to sigh over the view. Which I did.

The view!

The view!

Not only does this bedroom have a great view, it has the most amazing bathroom as well. Huge, with a fabulous tub, large shower, and plenty of counter space. I kind of regretted that we were staying downstairs and fully intended to take advantage of a sumptuous bubble bath but with all the running around we did, I never made it into the tub.

My biggest regret. Well. Look.

So sad I missed out on my bubble bath.

Loved this bathroom!

Loved this bathroom!

I loved every single thing about this place but truly one of the neatest things is the bunk bed room they have designed upstairs. With a whole bunch of beds – I honestly lost track of how many until I checked online and it actually has 4 twins, 2 doubles, and 2 twins and a futon in the loft. That’s right, there is a loft in this room. With a ladder up to it and bean bag chairs and a tv up there. All the cousins would have loved this room; in fact, I think it would be difficult to get them out of there!

Plenty of beds!

So, basically this is the most perfect beach house for a large family or group that you are going to find. It’s actually located in Fort Morgan, which is a part of Gulf Shores but is a quiet, secluded area near the actual, historic Fort Morgan which you can tour – a great activity for kids. The neighborhood has two very nice pools where we relaxed one afternoon and cooled off. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are a very short, 20-minute drive away and have plenty of great restaurants, shopping, and other activities.

If you are still unsure about visiting the area after hearing about this truly wonderful beach house, check out this video. Then make your reservation for Grand Paradise with Relax on the Beach, which also has plenty of other beach houses in other locations.

And take a bubble bath in that tub.

So I can live vicariously.

Full disclosure: Our stay was provided by Relax on the Beach but as always, we will share my honest opinions about any travel experiences we have.
